FR Review:
Clients gratefully turn to Meg Braff for her engaging and "uplifting" design style and friendly, yet professional demeanor. While she takes her cue from the client, Braff usually favors an updated traditional style with "happy yet sophisticated colors" and creative details. She will do as little as two rooms up to a complete redesign. References appreciate the firm's unusual secret sources, many from the South where Braff was raised. She is a favorite of many young uptown New Yorkers, more established suburban clients (Locust Valley, Greenwich, Bronxville) and families in Newport and Palm Beach.
Braff earned a BS in Developmental Psychology from Vanderbilt University and an AAS from Parsons School of Design. She opened her own shop in 1992, applying her background in psychology to create beautiful spaces that conform to the personalities of their inhabitants. Recent projects include a twelve-room apartment on Fifth Avenue decorated in finely modulated color harmonies, and a furniture showroom in High Point, North Carolina done in conjunction with Scalamandre.
Sensitive to cost constraints and able to work with a budget, Braff often incorporates moderately priced pieces from a large resource library. She is further commended for her "quick and appropriate action" if any issues arise, despite a relatively small office. While Braff is sometimes over-committed, her clients say that she always comes through. Fees are based on a standard design charge and the retail cost of products the company sources. Living rooms often are in the $75,000+ range. The firm is referred from friend-to-friend with the strongest commendations.
Representative Client Comments:
"I can always count on Meg, especially for that just-so Town & Country look." "We were so impressed that she took our very fine Oriental rug (to which we were attached), and had it magically transformed to fit our new apartment." "We are so appreciative of their resourcefulness, willingness and the quality of the work." "Very flexible with billing." "I actually think she's too cost conscious. Sometimes you just have to go for it." "She has a life outside decorating, but she won't take on any more projects than she can do a perfect job on." "Meg is so professional and gracious, she can even work with friends." "Meg is amazing with fabrics." "The rooms turned out exactly like the pictures they drew."
