FR Review:
Founded in 1984, Design Installations is an A/V and integration firm with a hard-earned reputation for innovation in the field. A founding member of CEDIA (the most notable trade organization) and a Crestron-certified installer, the firm of ten’s professional bona fides are all in line. However, what clients (and their architects and designers) tend to appreciate most is their ability to “handle any request,” like a specialty project for an Internet poker champ that required a complicated multi-monitor high-speed setup.
Most typical projects, including large-scale home theater systems, motorized blinds, computer networking and lighting controls, come in at about $50,000. More complicated work can run well into the high six figures. More than half of the company’s projects come directly from client referrals, but Design Installations also works very closely with architects, designers and contractors. Principals Dean Smith and Rick Samuels are said to provide “excellent service and up-to-the-minute knowledge” at fair prices.
Representative Client Comments:
“Rick and the rest of the staff are serious about what they do and know the ins and outs better than most.” “Nice guys.” “It’s really great that these guys can do it all and I don’t have to call seven different companies.” “You may have to wait to get an installation date, because they are swamped with work. It’s worth the wait.” “During the installation my house was struck by lightning and a portion of the system was destroyed. These guys worked quickly and efficiently and had my system up and running fast.”
