InnerSpace is a large, high-end AV firm committed the to boutique-style service that they began with: principals Andrea and Barry Reiner started the firm as a two-person operation. Today, the firm boasts a staff of 23 and a list of services that includes designing and installing home theater, audio/video, lighting control, home automation, electronic window treatments, acoustical design, soundproofing intercom systems and boardrooms for high-end clients. With its size and scope, InnerSpace can offer competitive service rates, and can handle projects ranging from relatively modest $15,000 jobs to those reaching well into six figures. The firm does about half its work in Westchester and Fairfield Counties and half in the city. Recently, InnerSpace opened a division to concentrate exclusively on lighting design, further rounding out a comprehensive portfolio of offerings. The focus is on giving clients top-notch cutting-edge systems with reliable, intuitive controls (LED systems in particular are a specialty). The division also leverages InnerSpace's relationship with manufacturers–they can sell equipment at a lower price point than traditional channels.
Clients praise the “sophisticated, yet simple to use” systems, and references say that InnerSpace is the place to go for those interested in home management systems. Sources say that the staff comes with a wealth of knowledge, and InnerSpace receives high marks for remaining available to clients long after a project is finished. With high-end product lines such as Savant, Sonos, Lutron, Sonance, Marantz, B&W and Sony combined with a good one-year parts and service warranty, clients say the company is worth its considerable price tag.
