FR Review:
Patrons proclaim Le Jeune Fine Upholstery “a breath of fresh air” for providing its clients with a “premier quality product” and “Old School” attentive service. Osmundo and Consuelo Alvarez purchased the reupholstery company in 1971, eleven years after emigrating to the U.S. from Cuba. As their three sons--Gerardo, Fernando and Alex--joined the business, the couple passed on their “traditional business values.” These values, in turn, have been the cornerstone of Le Jeune's growth and success in the high-end marketplace. Clients “feel like a part of the family.”

While 90 percent of Le Jeune’s business is to the trade, it still maintains a small retail business. Clients characterize the staff of nearly 40 as precise and skillful. Though Le Jeune maintains its reupholstery business, manufacturing original and custom upholstery has become the firm's mainstay. Conscious of the call for sustainable materials, Le Jeune uses "green" poplar hardwood, known for its rapid regenerative properties, for their frames. Most of the pieces in the company's “delightful” 800 square foot showroom show an affinity for a classic, timeless look, but Le Jeune can handle a vast array of other styles, including the clean, contemporary “Miami aesthetic.”

Although prices are said to be "on the New York side” and lead times tend to be a bit long, patrons insist that it's all "well worth it for such exceptional pieces.”

Representative Client Comments:
"Helpful and accommodating, a throwback to the kind of service many of us grew up with and appreciate." "They ask a lot of questions about detailing and that is what makes their product great - the precision and craftsmanship of each piece." "Sometimes they over cut fabric, so you have to watch the fabric yardages." "They are the premier upholstery shop in South Florida."
