FR Review:
Anubis Appraisal is Tara Ana Finley, a seasoned veteran of the art market who, in her 25 years’ experience, has achieved the professional hat trick of working in top-tier positions for three major auction houses: Sotheby’s, Christie’s, and Phillips. Consequently, she has considerable contacts within the auction world and, according to sources, knows how to navigate that world to achieve the best prices for her clients. Still, Anubis’ services are not geared exclusively toward selling: Finley and a small pool of associates also do considerable work on appraisal for donation, insurance, estate, and equitable distribution purposes. From its offices in Miami, the company tackles both large and small projects statewide. Like many appraisal firms, Anubis will appraise 19th and 20th century American and European paintings and antiques. However, Finley has a number of more specialized certifications from the AAA, including antiquities, Pre-Columbian art, tribal artifacts, and military miniatures and figurines (indeed, she instituted the auctioning of lead soldiers at Phillips). For these specialties, and for a “professional and prompt” style of business, Anubis wins high praise from sources. Its fees are also described as high, but “completely worth it for the peace of mind.”
Representative Client Comments:
"A well-trusted name in South Florida." "A real professional with a wide range of interests and talents." "She's a veteran. As such, her fees are up there, but her expertise is invaluable."
