FR Review:
Clients remark that when you sign the "fiercely passionate" Andre Tchelistcheff to a project what you receive in return is a home of refined design, inspired creativity and unique character. While the firm appears to have an affinity for open, clean traditional designs, their talents span the gamut including landmark and historical restorations, shingle, Tudor and ultra-contemporary designs. In addition, this "highly competent, professional" team can also help you with interior design and landscape planning. They particularly enjoy "problem" jobs. A former carpenter, Tchelistcheff maintains that same hands-on approach with his firm, hand sketching all of the concept work prior to computer drafting as well as maintaining a high level of involvement on every project they undertake.
Tchelistcheff, with a B.Arch from UC-Berkeley and M.Arch from MIT, established this boutique firm in 1998. Their ten-person team predominantly works on residential projects with a smattering of commercial ones. The firm routinely works throughout Manhattan, Long Island and Connecticut, taking on up to 12 projects at a time, from single rooms to ground up construction. Tchelistscheff has worked alongside such notable designers as Tui Pranich and Geoffrey Bradfield. Clients praise his ability to stay well within the parameters of their budget while getting them the most bang for their buck. Their fees are very reasonable for the quality of the final product, which we understand "you'd be hard pressed to find better."
