Headquartered in Switzerland, Enea Garden Design sees the forest through the trees, offering a global audience their “modern Italian design aesthetics.” Under the direction of principal “visionary” Enzo Enea, the firm made its mark in the U.S. in 2005 with its work on the Garden Lounge of the Miami Design District building, where it's own U.S. office is now located. Much like its geographical reach, Enea’s vision extends far beyond landscape design to include hardscape, water features, lighting, and their own line of outdoor furniture, as well as construction and installation management. We understand that their vision not only incorporates the project's appearance upon completion, but how the materials will age over the years. Enea has an affinity for “inside-out, outside-in” designs and for creating versatile spaces with distinct “rooms.”
The Miami office, under the guidance of Carolina Monteiro, focuses primarily on the residential market, but will take on commercial projects of particular interest. A small local staff is supported by the organization's roughly 215 employees worldwide, which, in addition to their wealth of experience, provide a rich collection of talents and specialties. The U.S. office handles between 10 and 15 projects at a time, working directly with the homeowner. We understand that the firm is quite picky when it comes to materials, using only natural products, but that the quality of the result is “well worth the wait.” Prices are said to be on the very high-end of the spectrum, but, sources remind us, “art doesn’t come without a price.”
