The North family has been providing Palm Beach with reputable wood restoration since John North, Sr. started the business in 1979. John North, Jr. and his three sons, who inherited the family appreciation for the artistry of wood furniture, now run the 2,000 square foot shop.
We're told that the North men have the expertise required for glazing, gold- and silver-leafing, refinishing and repairing antique heirlooms. The Norths have been known to take extreme measures to exceed customer expectations; one of our references told us that for one project, the team used teabags to get a color just right. Hand-painting furniture is another above-and-beyond service. The "absolutely beautiful" renderings can be of anything, from landscapes to clients’ favorite paintings.
Our sources appreciate the Norths’ experience and amiable service. We hear that their price falls in the mid to high range but also that they’re “in a completely different realm” from other furniture restoration firms: the cost reflects the high quality of work. Clients are adamant: you can look all over the map, but the Norths can't be topped.
