Summary Of Comments:

Peter Salamonski trained on the job with some of the best craftsmen in his native Poland before coming to America in 1989 and establishing A.R.S. Antiqua in 1990. In fact, some of Salamonski's work can be still be seen in prominent museums in Poland and inside Royal Castle in Warsaw.
Today Salamonski and his team of four specialize in restoring fine antique furniture, including veneer work, inlay, and marquetry repairs. The firm can work with any type of veneer or finish and is well-versed with the French polishing technique, as well as with the more contemporary use of shellac and lacquer. At the 5,000-square-foot workshop, pricing is by the piece, with typical restoration commissions running from $400-$3,000 per piece. The firm regularly does conservation and maintenance projects for clients' valuable antiques at $85 an hour.
A.R.S. Antiqua works mostly in Manhattan but also does work in Brooklyn, the Hamptons, and Palm Beach. The solid reputation and excellent results-- and Salamnoski's laid-back attitude-- draw delighted clients back to his shop for repeat business.
