With her vivacious take on classic design, strong service orientation and meticulous follow-through, Sandy Morgan has built a loyal following in Greenwich and the surrounding areas. With a traditional, rolled-arm Lawson sofa in beige or chintz typically setting the stage, rooms are enlivened with rolls of trims, hand-printed curtains and leopard woven chairs. American and English pieces sit comfortably with their European cousins and contemporary touches add flow and energy. All is done in a very collaborative manner with the client.
Living in Greenwich for over 30 years, Morgan has been involved in many different realms of interior design. Beginning on the editorial decorating staff after college with House & Garden and Mademoiselle magazines, Morgan then established an art consulting business based out of the converted barn in her backyard. Later she began Morgan & Co., an art, repro and accessories shop, which segued into interior design full-time. Currently she undertakes about two or three large jobs at a time and a handful of ongoing ones with an assistant.
After a conservative budget discussion, a Standard design fee is taken and product is purchased at Classic retail with oversight. Clients report that Morgan is particularly good about doing "the high-low thing," stretching the budget by having a few good antiques with decent vintage combined with quality reproductions. ASID.
